This term we welcome Miss Bianca Forte and Miss Emma Williams from Edith Cowan University who are completing their final teaching practice this term.
In Week 2 we celebrated our Mother’s Day morning tea where the students sang songs, served their special guests biscuits and cordial (after taking their order) and gave them the gifts that they had made. Many thanks to the aunties, grandmothers and friends for standing in for mothers who were unable to attend this happy event.
The integrated unit for this term is “Fairytales.” Fairy tales are not just fun but can provide students with the opportunities to boost their imagination, teach right from wrong, develop critical thinking skills, help to process emotions and expose them to stories from different cultures. Many of the activities include role play in the fairytale corner, story sequencing, discussing the common elements of fairytales, designing and creating a shield for their fairytale hero/heroine and making magical snowflakes. By participating in these purposeful and playful learning experiences we are supporting the St Anthony’s Early Childhood Policy. “Play is an essential tool for learning and when a child is actively engaging in play, they are using all of their senses to make sense of the world around them….”
Pre Primaries enjoyed their visit to the Wanneroo Library for National Simultaneous Storytime to listen to the reading of “The Cow Tripped Over the Moon.”
YEAR 1 RE NEWS
In Year One this term we have been learning about the Wonders of God’s Creation and Friendship.
We as Catholics pray for peace in the world. Give friendship to all of us, as we say the prayers we’ve been waiting for, for you to accept us. Glory, glory Father! Amen

We all thank you for the shady trees, the peaceful birds and all of the other animals that you made for us. Thank you for all the wonderful berries that you made for us. Amen

Help the people that are poor and have no friends or money. I say to you God, to give peace to all and help our friends to give them glory and friendship. Amen
