The Religious Education unit began by exploring some of the Symbols involved in the Sacrament of Confirmation. The children have learnt that Confirmation continues the journey which began at Baptism and as we grow older we join as a community of faith to better understand the presence of God in our lives.
Confirmation is another reminder of the love God has for each person and the desire of God for these young people to be filled with the Gifts of wisdom, understanding, right judgement, courage, reverence and wonder and awe so that they might be guided and helped throughout their lives to grow to their fullest potential and strengthening them to bring hope to the world.
In the past week, we have been researching about our Saints Name for Confirmation and some of the Gifts and Fruits of the Holy Spirit that they used in their life to help others. We are also eagerly awaiting to participate in our Confirmation Retreat next Friday 13th May.
As May is traditionally one of the Months we pray the Rosary to Mother Mary, the Year 6s would like to invite any of the School Children to the Library on a Friday Lunch-time to join them in reciting the Rosary.
